Sam Kennedy from 1Up.com has a great  blog post analyzing the effects of Gerstmanngate.

Give it a good read.

It would seem that some HIGHLY observant person(s) noticed some very fine details in a recent video that has since been edited to cover up what seems to be a leak revealing these characters as playable:

Ness

Jigglyupuff

Lucario

You can see the stuff in this video:

http://wii.com/jp/movies/smashbros-movie1/

It’s around 4:20.

It has all since been edited out, very much like the way Alesia Glidewell’s credits for voicing Krystal were removed from her website the day after it was put off.

[UPDATE: Turns out that video I linked to above has been edited and thus the proof is no longer there. BUT, fear not, as there is a You Tube version.]

That’s right — she’s back in action, fans. And she looks better than ever.

I normally wouldn’t point this out, but to any stubborn twats…

SHE HAS BOOBS THIS TIME. And long hair. And yes, like in Melee, they refer to her as FEMALE. That’s right, she is a GIRL, just in case anyone was still somehow on the stupid train of thought that she wasn’t.

Sheik’s design for Brawl was actually taken from concept art for Twilight Princess — so if Sheik had been in TP, this is what she would have looked like. If you ask me, it’s pretty cool that they went to the effort to make her match the other Zelda characters.

Now bask in her redesigned awesomeness:

Her special moves will remain the same, and it looks like she will share the same Final Smash as Zelda.

Now, cross your fingers with we as we hope that they tweaked her so that she is not ridiculously overbalanced this time around.

I know, fans. Let’s pass the gin and tonic around and share a few tears.

“Due to delays in the completion of Super Smash Bros. Brawl, we’ve had to change the release date of the game to Sunday, March 9th.

I deeply apologize to the people who have looked forward to playing the game for so long and ask that you hold on just a little longer. Thank you for your patience.”

We know it’ll be worth it, but WHY are we getting a month delay while Japan is only seeing a WEEK delay? That makes little to no sense. Then again, neither does delaying it until the summertime in Europe. F5cking figures that when we’re so close, the carrot is yanked away yet again and we remember that’s it still on a string.

[UPDATE: LOOK HERE FOR REAL LEAKS!]

I know this stuff has been happening a lot lately, but this roster I found seemed realistic an reasonable and has actually appeared as a rumor on a number of sites, not to mention that it predicted that Olimar would be unveiled next a MONTH ago.

Supposedly, it comes from a guy who worked on printing the strategy guide for Prima.

Notice that this was put together back in December — the order of characters is the order they are revealed on the DOJO!! and both Olimar and Sheik have been revealed sense, which continues the same order found here. Could be on to something, no?

Take a gander, see what you think:

Veterans:

Mario
Link

Kirby

Pikachu
Fox
Samus
Zelda
Bowser
Donkey Kong
Yoshi
Peach
Ice Climbers
Shiek (confirmed since)
Jigglypuff
Luigi
Captain Falcon
Ness
Marth
Ganondorf
Young Link (Wind Waker/Phantom Hourglass Themed)
Falco
Mewtwo

Mr. Game and Watch

Newcomers:

Pit
Wario
Zero Suit Samus
Ike
Pokémon Trainer
Diddy Kong
Meta Knight
Snake
Lucas
Sonic
King Dedede
Olimar (confirmed since)
Krystal
K. Rool
Geno
Animal Crossing Villager
Ridley
Isaac
Megaman

Well? Whaddya think? I think it will probably be close, even if it’s fake. Too many “duh” characters in there and ALL of the most-requested are in there, too, and Sakurai has been consistently giving us all of the most-requested characters.

Take it for what you will — if it IS the real one, I will be MORE than happy with it, I can say that.

Brawl info may be beginning to trickle out of official sources, but the most interesting tidbits I’ve been finding are the ideas of The Almighy Goat.

Give his blog a look, Smash fans. His stuff isn’t real, but it’s great fun — lots of stellar ideas.

CoroCoro magazine had some juicy new leaked Brawl info today: they confirmed that Zelda’s Down B Special is “Twilight Transformation” which will turn her into Sheik, and that her Final Smash is the Arrows of Light from Twilight Princess.

They also revealed that Sonic and Snake are, in fact, unlockable and are not available at the outset — just as Sakurai stated eons ago.

As for what Sheik’s redesign will look like, we have no clue yet. I’m sure it’ll be sweet.

But here’s hoping that Zelda is improved for Brawl (she was low tier in Melee) and that Sheik is kicked down a few notches (she was top tier in Melee) so that we have a much more balanced dual-character this time around.

[NOTE: BrawlCentral has since declared that there was, in fact, NO info on Zelda’s down B, and thus Sheik has not been confirmed…but if you ask me, the hush-hush about the matter practically confirms it, anyway.  Also, a friend of mine who would be in the know about such things confirmed to me that Sheik is in the instruction manual.]

Also, in regards to Snake’s Final Smash, Brawl Central has this to say…
