Evolution of Pit

I just thought I’d provide a glimpse at Pit’s older days in comparison to his totally redeisgned character model.

Here’s artwork of Pit from his original game, Kid Icarus.

Here’s Pit from the cover of Kid Icarus: Of Myths and Monsters, the Game Boy sequel.

Here’s Pit’s trophy from Super Smash Bros. Melee. The last line of its description read, “Will he ever fight again?”

And this is his appearance in Super Smash Bros. Brawl, older, slicker, and manga-styled, to be sure.

In case you, like myself, wondered who “Plautena” is…

In Pit’s world, Palutena is the Goddess of Light and ruler of “Angel Land.” If you want Pit’s story, read it at the link in the picture above, I won’t regurgitate it. However, I also realized that Palutena is the figure of a statue in the background of what one Pit’s stages.

One thing I am wondering about Brawl is if they’ll continue the usual layout for stages or if some stages will have two layers to them–ex., inside and outside. Time will tell. All I know is that one underground stage (with the Atlas-like statues) looks very enclosed. Will it just cut off, or something?

Regardless, I’m not particularly a fan, but Pit and his arenas are looking like a refreshing addition to my favorite game series.
